Patty Lee

April 20, 1945 - August 9, 2024

Patty Lee  79, of Caneyville, Kentucky; formerly of Sacramento passed away Friday, August 9, 2024 at her home in Caneyville.  Patricia Ann Bennett was born April 20, 1945 in Evansville, Indiana to the late Harvey Hicks and Mabre Ann Pannell Bennett and was lovingly known as either ‘Patty’ or ‘Nana’ to her friends or family.  Her gentle spirit and unwavering kindness profoundly impacted all who knew her.

Before retirement, Patty was the proud owner of The Primary House in Hardin County, where her dedication to child care shone brightly.  She was a figure in the community, known for her hard work and commitment to all of the children she cared for as well as her dedicated staff.  Her work ethic and integrity left a lasting impression on all who had the pleasure of working with her.

Patty’s love for her family was paralleled only by her passion for life’s simple pleasures.  She embraced the role of ‘Nana’ with open arms and cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Her home was a haven of love, laughter, and countless cherished memories.  Patty also found solace in the company of her beloved dogs, whose loyalty and companionship were a constant source of comfort.

A woman of many interests, Patty was an avid gardener who delighted in caring for her flowers.  Her garden was a testament to her patience and nurturing spirit, with every bloom reflecting her love and attention to detail.  Patty was also a dedicated fan of the University of Kentucky Basketball team, her enthusiasm for the game was infectious, and she rarely missed a chance to cheer on her favorite team.

Her faith was an integral part of her life.  Patty was a long-time member of the Sacramento Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

Patty’s life was a tapestry of love, service, and unwavering commitment to her family and community. Her absence will be deeply felt, but her spirit will continue to live on through the lives of those she touched. Patty’s legacy is one of kindness, generosity, and the enduring power of a loving family.

In addition to her parents, Patty was preceded in death by her son, David Gail Lee, who died March 11, 2004.

Patty is survived by two daughters, Dana Monin of Caneyville and Desha Lee of Leitchfield; six grandchildren, Joshua Monin (Whitney), Kelsey Rogers (Adam), Katie Kehoe (Mike), McKenzie Lee, Jacob Monin (Erica), and Presley Ayer (Josh); and nine great-grandchildren, Hannah Rogers, Rhett Rogers, Maci Rogers, Theo Monin, Sage Monin, Bennett Monin, Henry Ayer, Miley Graves, and Karmella Kehoe.

In order to honor Patty’s final wishes, private graveside services will be held Sunday, August 11, 2024 at Sacramento Cumberland Presbyterian Cemetery in Sacramento.  There will be no public visitation.  Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel is handling the funeral arrangements for Patty’s family.
