Betty Katherine Peyton, 88, of Owensboro, passed away on August 1, 2024, under the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky. She was born in Owensboro on November 16, 1935, to the late Walter and Effie Stinnett Dean.
Betty retired from Owensboro Public Schools after twenty years in the cafeteria and was a member of Eaton Memorial Baptist Church. Family and friends describe Betty as a wonderful mother and caregiver.
Along with her parents, Betty is preceded in death by her husband of sixty-eight years, Bobby Gene Peyton, her son, Walter Gene Peyton, and her siblings, Henrietta, Brenda, James, Walter, and JR.
Betty is survived by her son, John Peyton, and Grandson, Patrick Peyton.
Services will be at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, at Eaton Memorial Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the time of the service at the church. A private burial will take place at a later date.
