Ina Aileen Horn

March 31, 1933 - April 14, 2019

Ina Aileen Horn, 86, of Owensboro died on April 14, 2019 surrounded by her family. She was a faithful Christian and will be dearly missed by her family and loving friends. She was born on March 31, 1933, in Graham, KY to the late Irene M. Stewart and Eugene A. Stewart.
As a high schooler, she was the pianist for the Madisonville and Greenville Quartets, playing a show at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville and featured on a weekly Sunday radio show. She had a successful career in real estate starting in 1974 and retiring in 2003. She was an active member of First Baptist Church and had a long history of volunteering in Sunday School, VBS, and with the GAs during her years as a member of Bellevue Baptist Church and Lewis Lane Baptist Church. She was a member of Pilot Club International, DAR, and enjoyed playing bridge with her friends. She and her husband, Don, founded the Green River Head Injury Support Group of Owensboro advocating for those who suffered from traumatic brain injuries. As a couple, they were also active in the Friendship Force hosting visitors from the Russian delegation. She enjoyed traveling with her friends and family in the U.S. and abroad and spent many weekends on the lake with her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years Donald Robert Horn and is survived by her son, Thomas Horn of Owensboro, daughters and sons-in-law, Sheila and David Kiley of Louisville, Donna and Tim France of Owensboro, and Karen and Michael Huennekens of Richmond, VA; seven grandchildren, Justin France, Wesley France, Sarah France, Courtney W. Kern (Jacob), Lauren Weihe, Preston Huennekens, and Kendall Huennekens; and two great-grandchildren, Tessa and Gwen Kern; also survived by a sister, Brenda J. Lile (Larry), and niece Lori Alexander (Kevin) and nephew Larry S. Lile (Dian).
Funeral service will be at 12:00 noon Friday at First Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation is from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 18 at James H.
