She liked watching Christian TV shows, Wheel of Fortune, and UK basketball. She especially loved spending time with her family. In earlier years, Hazel enjoyed playing cards with longtime friends; Elizabeth, Ollie, Pat, and Violet. In recent times, she loved going to the beauty salon and lunch on Fridays with her special friend, Willow Mae.

Hazel was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jim Wilson; brothers, Carroll Hagerman and Gerald Hagerman; sisters, Lodene Hayden, Regina Jennings, and Wanda Lee Hagerman; and granddaughter, Jennifer Thompson.
