Janet Lynn Riley, age 71 of Hardinsburg, KY passed away August 19, 2024 in Louisville, KY. She was born in Michigan City, IN on September 13, 1952, daughter of the late Floyd and Ruth Tracy. Janet retired from Cox’s Hardware, where she worked for over 20 years in the garden center. If you needed to know anything about plants or flowers, she was the one to ask. She loved and was loved by her co-workers and customers. She and her husband had a large circle of lifelong friends who met multiple times each month, whether it was to have cookouts, ride motorcycles or just catch up with each other. After retirement, Janet became a homebody. She and Darrel enjoyed the solitude of their home and spent many nights watching movies. She played phone games, especially Solitaire and Candy Crush, which was something she now had time to do.
In addition to her parents, Janet was preceded in death by her daughter Erica Riley.

2 children: Kayla Riley (Jeff King) of Hardinsburg, KY and Jamie Riley of Hardinsburg, KY
8 grandchildren: James, Jason, Madison, Abigail, Jonathan, Matthew, Emily and Alexander
2 sisters: Virginia Schuelke of Delaware and Barb Bays of Florida
Several nieces and nephews, including Connie, who she was very fond of.
No services are being held at this time, however, a memorial will be scheduled at a later date.
