With great sadness and with celebration, William Brian Whitfield departed this earth to live eternally in heaven on Monday, August 26, 2024. Brian was born October 16, 1963, in Owensboro to Edna Guffy and Raymond Whitfield.
Brian will lovingly be remembered by his wife of 33 years, Beth, and their two daughters, Hannah Rae (Donnie) Kessler and Kynday (Ben) Eylott; his grandchildren, William Kessler and Natalie Kessler; and his sister, Jennifer Ann (Rick) Thurman. He was preceded in death by his father.
Brian was a devout Christian and was actively involved for 24 years at Southland Christian Church where he served as a bible study leader, marriage class leader, and in many other roles. Brian’s devotion to his faith was the most important thing in his life. He said, “I know where I am going. If you don’t, I can testify that Jesus is real!” He was a loving, caring, and supportive husband, father, and grandfather. He had a great sense of humor and never met a stranger. Brian’s friends and family are familiar with his sayings, “If you can’t have fun, what can you have?!” and “Stop being afraid and go out and love people!” Brian loved talking to people, which is probably part of the reason his business, Bluegrass Dent Repair, was so successful. Brian was a huge Shinedown music fan and an extremely avid UK football fan.
Brian’s family invites friends to help celebrate his life at his open house, 5000 Lupreese Lane, on September 13, 2024 at 5:00 pm. An open mic for Karaoke and/or sharing memories will be provided.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Leukemia &Lymphoma Society, Donor Services, P.O. Box 22324, New York, NY 10087 or to Natalie’s Sisters, P.O. Box 2074, Lexington, KY 40588.
