Mary Lois Burns, 77, of Owensboro passed away on August 29, 2024, surrounded by her family. She was born on April 28, 1947, in Owensboro to the late Charles Eugene and Edna Irene Evans Berry. Mary retired as a forklift operator from Ragu and was a member of Grace Pointe Baptist Church.
In her free time, Mary enjoyed playing bingo and bunco, bowling, and taking care of her family. She was always lending a helping hand to anyone in need and loved with her whole heart. Her greatest joy came from her grandkids, she loved supporting them by attending all of their ball games and cross-country meets.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers; Donald Berry, Billy Berry, Tommy Berry, and Paul Evans, and her sister; Wanda Berry.
Left to cherish Mary’s memory are her husband of over 50 years, William Burns, children; William Burns (Susan Muss) and Penny Burns (Carlie Wester), grandchildren; Leslie Burns, John Burns, Katelyn Burns, Luke O’Bryan and Jonna Carrico, great-granddaughter, Vivianne Burns, and siblings; Gene (Mary) Berry, Patty (Bill) Boone, Sherry (Dan) Hulsey, Rick (Gail) Berry, James (Kay) Berry, and Marty (Ann) Evans.
Memorial services will be determined at a later date by the family.
