Emma Lou Bigger, 63, of Utica, KY, entered eternal rest on August 30, 2024. She was born in Owensboro, KY on April 4, 1961, to the late Bob and Anne Greer. She attended Daviess County High School and graduated in 1979.
Emma Lou was a beloved mother and is survived by her four sons David (47), Beau, (42), Bj, (38), and Blake (35); nine grandchildren; former spouse, David Ralph; four siblings, Terry, Jim, Beth Anne, and Tom; and many nieces and nephews.
Emma Lou was a very generous and supportive person. She would be there for her loved ones in a heartbeat. As a devoted mother and grandmother, she made sure to always provide her family with a home-cooked meal no matter what, and that was something she was immensely proud of. Emma Lou was known to be a vibrant and fierce woman. She knew how to make others laugh and could make you feel right at home.
Emma Lou loved planting flowers. She grew tulips, roses, honeysuckles, marigolds, and irises, but one of her favorite flowers was the daffodil. Hundreds of these beauties would bloom in the Springtime each year, giving lush and color to the landscape. Daffodils symbolize rebirth, hope, joy and new beginnings, and just like Emma Lou, they have a meaning of resilience.
Services to honor and celebrate the life of Emma Lou will take place at 6 p.m. on Monday, September 9, 2024 at James H Davis Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m. followed by the memorial service at 6:00 p.m.
