Loretta Ann Wathen

Loretta Ann Wathen, 83, of Owensboro passed away April 23, 2019 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. She was born in Hancock County on June 24, 1935 to the late Franklin and Sylvia Wheatley. She was a retired from River Valley Behavioral Health as a Residential Provider. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, and her flower gardens.

Along with her parents, Loretta was preceded in death by her husband, William Wathen, her son, William Wathen, II, and her daughter, Margaret Jane Lee.

Loretta is survived by her children, Frank (Debra) Wathen, Joe Wathen; her grandchildren, Bill, Jeremy, Jason, Chris, Kim, Franklin, Aaron, Carol, Rachel, Hannah, Owen, Austin, Mitchell, Carly Jo, Madison, and her siblings, Ruth, Margaret, Rosa Lee, Theresa, Dennis, John, and Mike.

Services will be at 12:00 pm Friday, April 26, 2019 at St. Stephen Cathedral, with Father Jerry Riney officiating. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm Thursday at Haley McGinnis Funeral Home & Crematory, and again from 10:00 am to 11:30 am at the funeral home. Prayers will be 5:30 pm at the funeral home.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Blessed Sacrament Church; 602 Sycamore St; Owensboro, Kentucky 42301, or to the St. Stephen Cathedral Charity Fund; 610 Locust St, Owensboro, Kentucky 42301. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
