James A. “Jim” Rhodes, 65, of Owensboro, passed away Saturday, April 20, 2019 at his home. He was born in Owensboro to Joseph A. and Betty Lou Galloway Rhodes.
Jim was a 1973 graduate of Owensboro Catholic High. As a young man Jim lived in Texas for more than 14 years before returning to Owensboro to continue his career as a mechanic and welder. He worked for Brown’s Valley Trucking prior to becoming disabled. Jim enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing pool.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Lou Galloway Rhodes; a brother, Ray J. Rhodes in 2014; and a niece, Sara Sorenson.
Survivors include his father, Joseph A. Rhodes of Owensboro; sister, Sue Beth Sorenson of Storm Lake, Iowa; a brother, Tom Rhodes (Betty) of Owensboro; nieces and nephews, Joseph Sorenson (Sandy), Mary Sorenson Ludwig (Bret), Kevin Rhodes (Dawn) and Kaylen Rhodes; and great nieces and nephews, Baylee Rhodes, Tyrei Monet, Juliana and Oakley Sorenson, Tristin and Emerson Ludwig & Dakota Pratt.
The service will be held at 10 AM, Saturday, April 27th at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory where visitation will be held from 3 until 7 PM Friday and after 9 AM on Saturday. Burial will be at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery.
