Randall Houston Goatee, 80, of Utica, passed away Saturday, September 28, 2024 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. He was born in Utica to the late Samuel Willard and Sarah Katherine Simpson Goatee.
Randall was a U.S. Army Veteran and served in the Vietnam War. His service took him to the New England states where he met his wife and settled in that area.
Randall grew up helping his father in construction and even helped build grain bins in downtown Owensboro. Following his military service, he owned and operated Goatee Construction for twenty-five years in the New England area and continued the business for a short time in Owensboro. Randall enjoyed negotiating and was known for his pastime of buying and selling many things, including houses, cars and boats.
He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, VFW Post #12022, American Legion Yates Post #9 and the Lion’s Club back east, where he had served as an officer.
Mr. Goatee is survived by his wife of fifty-four years, Deborah Goatee; daughters, Debbie McPherson (Michael) and Kara Moseley (David); his son, Kal Goatee; grandchildren, Patrick McPherson, Mikala Sireci, Jordan Sapp, Lucas Alber, Robert Goatee, Austin Barnett and Aden Barnett; six great-grandchildren; sisters, Elizabeth Parks, Edna Berner, Faye Allen and Jeannie Burns; a brother, Samuel Goatee; many nieces and nephews; and his beloved dogs, Big Rascal, Lil Rascal and Pooter.
The service will be at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, October 2nd at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory, where visitation will be from 11:00 AM until the time of service. Burial will be at Green Brier Cemetery.
