Sandra Ham Brown, 75, of Owensboro passed away Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at the Oakwood Health Campus. The Daviess County native was born May 8, 1949, to the late Robert and Margaret Crabtree Ham. Sandra graduated from Owensboro High School, class of 1967, and continued her education at the University of Kentucky. She eventually transferred to Western Kentucky University where she received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in computer science. Sandra was a computer analyst for the City of Owensboro for over 22 years, retiring in 2014. Growing up, Sandra became a certified scuba diver and owned a thoroughbred racehorse which she ran on tracks all over the country. She loved her cats, laying by the pool, traveling, and going to Sanibel Island. Sandra was a frugal person and one of routine but loved to joke. She was an avid reader and devoted UK basketball fan.
In addition to her parents, Sandra also was preceded in death by sister, Debbie Crowe in 2023.
Those left to cherish her memory include her friend and husband of 28 years, Kenny Brown; stepdaughter, Jamie Haynes (Nick); her granddaughter, Ella Haynes; brother, Robert Ham (Gilda); niece, Melissa Berry; special first cousin, Mary “Coco” Collins (Bill).
The funeral service will be at noon on Tuesday, October 29 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with same day visitation from 10:00 am until the time of the service. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery.
