David A. "Papa" Jones

David A. “Papa” Jones, 70 of Whitesville, passed away on Saturday, May 4, 2019, at his home surrounded by his loving family. David was born June 28, 1948, in Owensboro, to the late Bernard Cecil and Edith Frances Millay Jones. He was retired from sales with Airgas South Division – Mid America Region, where he had worked for over 16 years.

He was a member of the Catholic faith.

He enjoyed fishing and hunting, but most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends.

He also was preceded in death by his siblings, Joseph Dennis Jones, Wanda Lee Brown and Helen Maxine Fleishmann.

David leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife for over 40 years, Linda Beavin Jones; two sons, A. Eric (Lynn) Jones of Louisville and Noel R. Jones of Owensboro; a daughter, Kimberly L. Jones of Whitesville; six grandchildren, Kayla Krampe and Cameron Jones of Owensboro, and Caroline and Clayton Jones of Louisville, Sammi and Reagan Allen of Whitesville; two step-grandchildren, Monique Pendley and Lindsey Flikkie, both of Louisville; a brother, J. Donald (Margaret Ann) Jones of Owensboro; two sisters, Brenda R. Willard of Missouri and Linda A. (Jerry) Ebelhar of Owensboro; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be at noon on Wednesday at St. Joseph and Paul Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. and after 10 a.m. Wednesday at Haley McGinnis Funeral Home & Crematory. Prayers will be said Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
