Kenneth “Andy” Charles Anderson, 87, of Philpot, passed away Friday, May 3, 2019 at Hermitage Care and Rehabilitation Center. He was born on August 7, 1931, in Alden, Iowa to the late William Henry and Blanche Anne Kearney Anderson. Andy was retired from the United States Army after proudly serving for 20 years and retired from the Daviess County Hospital where he was head of the maintenance department. He was a Mason in the Masonic Lodge #871 in Argenta, Illinois, a long-time member of the Lions Club, served on the board at Friends First Credit Union, was on the board for the Knottsville Fire Department for 30 years, and enjoyed going fishing.
He also was preceded in death by a sister, Joann Bensley.
Andy is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, June Caudill Anderson; daughters, Joni Anderson of Costa Rica and Pamela Anderson Stamps (Jeff) of Auburn, KY; grandchildren, Barbara Anderson, Keith Tyler Matson of Altus Air Force Base, Oklahoma, Elizabeth Ann McCall (Shannon), Jacob Andrew Stamps (Stephanie), Jeffrey Tinnell Stamps, Mary Lorne Tinsley and Woodrow Albert Stamps; 12 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Richard Hunt (Ruth) of Davenport, Iowa.
The funeral service for Andy Anderson will be at 2 PM, Thursday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with Brother Kenny Chyle officiating. Visitation will be Thursday beginning at 12 PM until time of service at the funeral home. Entombment will be in Christ Chapel at Owensboro Memorial Gardens.
