James E. "Jimmy" Horn

March 13, 1942 - May 8, 2019

James E. “Jimmy” Horn, Sr., 77, of Owensboro, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at his home, surrounded by family. He was born in Daviess County to the late Morgan, Sr. and Annabelle Horn.

James served in the U.S. Navy from 1959-1978 where he attained the rank of Chief Petty Officer. He worked in communications electronics, electronics security and Armed Forces Carrier Service. After retirement from the Navy, James was self-employed in the automobile business and real estate. James enjoyed NASCAR Racing, vintage cars, fishing and sharing and hearing stories with family and friends. He especially loved all of the beautiful times he shared with family down at the lake. James was a Christian man who found comfort in his Christian faith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six brothers, Robert, Billy, Donald, Charlie, Jack and Morgan Horn, Jr.

James is survived by his wife and love of 55 years, Linda Horn; children, Diana Williams, James Horn, Jr. and Michelle Boarman; grandchildren, Bradley “PJ” Horn (Coty), Morgan “Morg” Horn, Brynnan “B” Boarman, Addison “Angel” Horn, Fynnlie “Happy” Boarman and Lily “Blossom” Boarman; great-grandchildren, Jackson “J4” and Connor “CW” Horn; a sister, Nancy Ann Horn; in-laws, Ruth Horn, Martha Horn, Norman and Ann Cambron and Leo Kamuf, Jr.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins, all of Owensboro.

The service will be 12 Noon, Saturday, May 11 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory where visitation will be Friday from 3 until 8 PM and Saturday after 10 AM. Burial will be at Yellow Creek Cemetery.
