Janice McClaskey Greer 76, of Beaver Dam, formerly of Sacramento passed away Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. Janice Kay Revelett was born April 11, 1948 in McLean County, Kentucky to the late Theodore and Verda Mae Conrad Revelett, was married to the love of her life for 52 years, Steven Jack McClaskey, who died on September 10, 2020, and was later married to Jimmie Ray Greer on April 8, 2022. Janice’s vibrant spirit and zest for life were evident from the very beginning.
Before retiring, Janice dedicated many years of her life as a dietary manager at the former Regional Medical Center in Madisonville. Her work was more than a profession; it was a testament to her caring nature and her desire to nurture others through her expertise.
Janice’s love for bright colors was a reflection of her vibrant personality, with red being her favorite. It was a hue that matched both her passion for life and the warmth she extended to everyone she met. Dancing was another of Janice’s joys, and she would often be the life of the party, dancing with a grace and enthusiasm that was infectious. Her love for dancing was only matched by her love for spending time with her family and friends. Each moment shared was a treasure, and Janice made sure to make every gathering memorable.
A woman of strong faith, Janice cherished her church family at Knobbs Church of God. Her deep belief in the Lord was a guiding force in her life, providing her with strength and comfort. She lived her faith through her actions, always ready to lend a helping hand or offer a word of encouragement.
Janice’s life was a beautiful example of love in action. She will be remembered for her radiant smile, her generous spirit, and the unwavering love she had for her family. Her memory will be cherished and kept alive in the hearts of those who knew her. Janice’s presence will be deeply missed, but the impact of her life will be felt for generations to come.
In addition to her parents and first husband, Janice was preceded in death by three brothers, Russell Revelett, Theodore ‘Casper’ Revelett, and Jimmy Revelett; and by her sister, Geneivee Travis.
Janice is survived by her husband, Jim Greer; two daughters, Tammy Hopper (Rick) and Kirstie Divine both of Sacramento; two step sons, Jeff Greer (April) of Owensboro and Tim Greer (Cheri) of Murray; a step daughter, Kim Boarman (John) of Owensboro; five grandchildren, Zach Hopper (Ashley), Tyler Divine (Allison), Tristan Hopper (Victoria), Chelsea Edmonds (Stephen), and Austin Divine; 8 step grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 7 step great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, December 7, 2024 at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel. Burial will be in the Sacramento Baptist Cemetery in McLean County. Friends may visit with Janice’s family from 10:30 A.M. until 2:00 P.M. Sunday at Musters in Calhoun.
