Charles E. Douglas, Sr. a.k.a. Bootie, 79. Of Maceo, KY died peacefully in his home on Sunday November 17, 2024. He was born November 24, 1944 and was one of 16 children.
He is preceded in death by his parents John Bourbon and Louisa Bell Douglas, his wife Clara M. Douglas of 32 years and his siblings Jay, Larry, Linda, Dorothy, Billy, Donny, and Ricky Douglas; his daughters Veronica L Jordan and Nicki Webb.
Bootie had a passion for fishing, hunting, watching NASCAR, Western movies, and maintaining a beautiful yard at his home. He enjoyed his automobile, truck, tractor, and Polaris Ranger while recreating and working on projects.
He is survived by his children Charles E. Douglas, Jr., Darrell L. Douglas, Martika Douglas, and LaShawnda Cole; stepdaughter Stephanie Cole; his siblings Becky, Mary, Pauline, Mike, Jimmie, Paul, Donald, and David Douglas; several grandchildren including Miranda Douglas, Nathan Douglas, Nicholas Douglas, Ashley Douglas, Zachary Douglas, Diamond Webb, Mahogany Webb, Christopher Douglas, Jasmine Fingers, Brianna Douglas, Malik Douglas, and Makayla Douglas; great-grandchildren including Paisley Bell, Harper, Harper, Zaria, Joshua, Camille, Cassandra, Emily, Aaliyah, Alexandria, Angelica, Skotland, Tai’Zharion, and Ja’Corey; a host of cousins; and former partner Lisa Cole. Not only was he blessed with this wonderful family he also had many great friends including Jimmy Thompson, Willie Johnson, J D (Sandy) Boyd, and Jay Hughes.
Charles will be sadly missed by all who loved and knew him.
A private service and visitation were held on Friday November 22, 2024 at McFarland Funeral Home for the family.
