Floyd Lee Parks, 52, of Owensboro passed away Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. The Daviess County native was born May 2, 1972, to the late William “Willie” Parks and Nancy Allen Parks. Floyd graduated from Owensboro High School, class of 1990 where he played in the band. After graduating, he served as an EMT in the United States Navy. Floyd worked at Walmart on Hwy 54 and was a very good cook working at the Executive Inn and several restaurants in town before being employed recently at the Convention Center. He was a shy and quiet person and enjoyed being on his phone and laptop playing games and reading.
In addition to his parents, Floyd also was preceded in death by his Lab-Beagle dog, “Baby Girl”.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 18 years, Amie Jo Strader Parks; brother, Marcus Parks; father and mother in-law, Marshall and Kathy Strader of Dawson Springs and brother-in-law, Steven Strader (Nikki) of Providence; fur baby, Sweet Pea; numerous cousins.
The funeral service will be at noon on Monday, December 9 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with same day visitation from 10:00 am until the time of the service. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery.
