Sharon Faye Miller

Sharon Faye Miller 78, of the Poplar Grove Community in McLean County, Kentucky passed from this life to spend eternity with Jesus on Sunday, December 8, 2024 at the Heartford House in Owensboro after a brief battle with cancer.

Sharon Faye Ellis was born to the late Erman Grundy and Arzona Durbin Ellis on February 14, 1946. She graduated from Sacramento High School in 1964 and later married David Carol Miller on April 16, 1965. They spent the next 59 ½ years building a life together, putting God first, then their family. Their example of love and devotion to each other has blessed their children and grandchildren with many precious memories.

Sharon was a homemaker and member of Calhoun Baptist Church, where she served as the church pianist for over 40 years. Prior to that she served at Sacramento Baptist Church and Watson Lane Baptist Church in Henderson. Music was her passion and she attended countless choir rehearsals, cantatas, and played special music for anyone who wanted to sing. Sharon always looked forward to attending the National Quartet Convention each fall, which fueled her love for music and worship.

Her children were her pride and joy until she earned the title ‘Grandmama’ from her precious granddaughters, who were the light of her life. They hung the moon until they had babies of their own, who quickly got all of the attention. She will forever be their guardian angel.

In addition to her parents, Sharon was preceded in death by a brother, J.E. Ellis; and a sister-in-law, Keneda Ellis.

Sharon is survived by her husband of 59 ½ years, David; a son, Greg Miller (Angie) of Poplar Grove; a daughter, Valerie Blackford (Kenny) of Calhoun; two granddaughters, Kayla Davis (Clay) and Ashley Dame (Wesley); three sweet great-grandsons, James Carol Davis, Luke Thomas Davis, and Maverick Leo Dame; and a great-granddaughter due in March to join her big brother, Mav; a brother, Ronald Grundy Ellis (Phyllis) of Owensboro; nieces, nephews, countless friends, and extended family.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, December 12, 2024 at Calhoun Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Sacramento Cumberland Presbyterian Cemetery in Sacramento.
