
Rick McCarty 64, of Beech Grove, Kentucky passed away Friday, December 13, 2024 at the Heartford House in Owensboro. Richard Dennis McCarty was born January 26, 1960 in Owensboro, Kentucky to the late James Louis and Jean Rita Towery McCarty and was better known as ‘Rick’ to both this family and friends. Rick was married to the former Kathleen Susan ‘Kathy’ Mathis on September 4, 1986, until her death on February 8, 2022 and was later married to the former June O’Bryan on May 20, 2023.
Rick worked as a foreman for concrete companies in both Tennessee and Mississippi and was a farmer. He was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Curdsville.
Rick loved horseback riding, working on his farm, barbeques, and family get-togethers.
In addition to his parents and first wife, Rick was preceded in death by a step daughter, Cassie Head; a brother, Steve McCarty; and a nephew, Corbin McCarty.
Rick is survived by his wife, June McCarty; a son, Josh McCarty (Amanda Brown) of Owensboro; two step sons, Jacob Head and Jeremy Head (Jena) both of Owensboro; four step daughters, Bridgette Gunn (Paladin) of Owensboro, Michelle Rice (Will) of Bowling Green, DeAnna Broyles of Beech Grove, and Savanna Boyd of Delta, Colorado; five brothers, Doug McCarty (Gene) of Louisiana, Tom McCarty (Pam) of Beech Grove, Hugh McCarty (Rob) of Louisville, Bruce McCarty of Uniontown, and Lee McCarty of Calhoun; five sisters, Marian Winstead (David) of Beech Grove, Joyce McCarty of Owensboro, Diana Haynes (David) of Curdsville, Janice Brett of Owensboro, and Theresa Payne (Billy) of Sorgho; a sister-in-law, Laquita McCarty of Curdsville; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, December 18, 2024 at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Curdsville. Burial will be in the St. Raphael Cemetery in West Louisville. Friends may visit with Rick’s family from 9:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at Sr. Elizabeth. Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel is handling the arrangements for Rick’s family.
