Maria Darlene Pedley Conkright

Maria Darlene Pedley Conkright, 62, of Owensboro, passed from this world on May 13, 2019 at her home after her brief battle with cancer. Darlene was born March 25, 1957 in Owensboro, to Ward Pedley, Sr. and Mildred (Minnie) June Medley Pedley. She is a 1975 graduate of Owensboro Catholic High School. Darlene loved to sew, enjoyed cooking and spending time with her only granddaughter, Savannah.

She had a passion for work, starting out at Lincoln Service in 1978 and worked her way up to Vice President before leaving there in 1988. Her next job took her to Cleveland, Ohio as a Vice President of TransOhio Bank for two years, then worked for Freedom Mortgage Corporation for 5 years as their Executive Vice President. Darlene then moved to Louisville, Ky to start her own business, Immediate Solutions Mortgage Consulting. She also served as the educational chairperson for Kentucky Mortgage Brokers Association, and currently was the director for Kentucky Association Mortgage Professionals. Darlene also joined the family business with her parents, sister, and brothers developing Cross Creek Subdivision and decorating the model homes.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Mildred (Minnie) June Medley Pedley in 2017.

Darlene is survived by her daughter, Kelly Conkright Crabtree; her father, Ward Pedley, Sr.; sister, Lisa Gaye Millay (Kenneth); two brothers, Ronald Ward Pedley (Kristie) and Ward Pedley, Jr. (Diana), all of Owensboro; a beloved granddaughter, who hung the moon in her eyes, Savannah Crabtree of Owensboro; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

The memorial service for Darlene Conkright will be Noon, Thursday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with Father Mike Clark officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 3 until 7PM and Thursday from 10 until time of service.

Her family wishes to give a sincere thank you to Darlene’s doctors, nurses, caretakers at the Mitchell Memorial Cancer Center.
