Patricia Edrena Hogg

December 8, 1951 - May 11, 2019

Patricia Edrena Hogg, 67, of Owensboro, passed away Saturday, May 11, 2019 at her home. She was born December 8, 1951 in Hazard, KY to the late Houston and Margaret L. Smith Hogg.

Patricia worked for Daviess County School System and Owensboro Transit System driving a bus for many years before moving to Arlington, TX and working for Arlington Independent School District as a bus driver and an administrator for 30 years before retiring and relocating back to Owensboro.
She was a member of Shepherd’s Gate Bible Ministry in Grand Prairie, TX and Asbury United Methodist Church in Owensboro where she was immensely involved in ministry. Patricia was licensed as an ordained Minister and a true faith-filled Woman of God.

Despite her hectic schedule, family and friends were Patricia’s passion and delight. She loved spending summers with her grandchildren and cherished her special “Sumo Girl” Faith Hogg. Patricia was passionate about helping others. An encounter with Patricia was met with a warm hug and bright smile.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandchild, India S. Jones; a brother, James F. Hogg; a beloved friend, John A. Winstead Sr.

Patricia’s memories will be treasured by her proudest accomplishments her children, Andrea L. Berry and her husband, Brian, of Clarksville, TN, John A. Winstead, Jr. of Owensboro, James H. Winstead of Frankfort, KY, Antonia S. Mack and her husband, Romel, of Arlington, TX, Ru’Nisha L. Winstead and Adriana D. Winstead, both of Rockport, IN, Kimberly D. Jenkins of Boynton Beach, FL; bonus daughter Susan A. Shelton of Owensboro; fifteen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Rachel J. Jessup (Ricky) of Bowling Green; brothers, Richard L. Freeman and David L. Hogg (Gwen), both of Indianapolis, IN, and Houston Hogg, Jr. (Debbie) of Owensboro.

She will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

The memorial service celebrating her life will be Noon, Saturday May 18, 2019 at Zion Baptist Church, 2311 W. 9th Street in Owensboro. Reverend Kathy Ogletree-Goodwin will be officiating. A repast will follow the service at Asbury United Methodist Church, 2711 Cravens Avenue in Owensboro. The family requests that any food items be taken to the church Saturday morning after 10:00 AM.
