
Joseph A. “Tony” Rhodes, 91, of Knottsville, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, January 3, 2025 in White House, Tennessee while in the care of his loving family and Hospice. He was born on January 1, 1934 in Reed, KY. Tony retired from Whirlpool Corporation after 38 years and then worked for Cecil Funeral Home for 20 years. Tony enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, and a new great-grandson. His favorite pastime/hobby was singing. All who heard him sing know what a beautiful voice he had.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Elsie Rhodes; three brothers, Louis, Leon and Harold; sister, Kathleen Harrison; and a daughter, Serena Carol.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mary Helen Rhodes; his children, Lisa (DeWayne) Hochstetler, Chris Rhodes, and Carisa Weathers; three grandchildren, Helen, Timothy, and Anthony; step-granddaughter, Shelby Goff; two great-grandchildren, Davis and Caden Ankenbauer; siblings, Gerald Rhodes of Whitesville, Lois Sims of Owensboro, Marie Brandle of Hawesville, and Carolyn Niessan of Owensboro. There are many nieces and nephews (Rhodes’ & Higdon’s), who loved their Uncle Anthony/Uncle Tony.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 11, 2025 at St. William Catholic Church, Knottsville. Burial will follow in St. William Cemetery. Visitation is from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday with prayers at 6:00 p.m. at Cecil Funeral Home.
