James Henry Wayne

December 4, 1948 - January 15, 2025

James Henry Wayne, 76, of Owensboro, passed away January 15, 2025, after a long battle with lung cancer. He was born December 4, 1948, to the late Charles Robert and Mary Ada Stallings Wayne. James was a born again Christian and was dedicated to reading and studying the Bible. He was a veteran of the United States Army and after an honorable discharge, worked as a Welder until his retirement from TVA. He then decided to earn a CDL and was a long-distance truck driver. James was a well-versed pool player and loved watching old Western movies. He also enjoyed spending time with his best bud and nephew, Larry King, and best furry four-legged friend, Buddy.

James was also preceded in death by his siblings and their spouses, Charles (Ruby) Wayne, Angela (J.T. O’Bryan, Rose (Jack) King, Martha (Frank) Gamboa and brothers-in-law, James Feldpausch and Jack Beam.

He is survived by his children, James Brett Wayne and Alissa (J.R.) Collins; grandchildren, Caleb (Kelsey), Gabriel (Thomas), Maddy, Ty (Kate), Brock, Isabella, and Addison; siblings, Frances Feldpausch, Robert (Judy) Wayne, Joseph (Beverly) Wayne, and Linda Ruth Beam; step-children Kathy Mullins and Penny Mullins Howard and step-grandchild, Chase Mullins, along with a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

The funeral service will be 12:00 p.m. Thursday, January 23 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory where visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Rosehill Cemetery.
