Bonnie Alsup Willis, 69, of Owensboro, passed away on Thursday, May 23, 2019 at her home. She was born August 18, 1949 in Daviess Co. to the late Annie Thomas and Robert C. Alsup, Sr. Bonnie had attended Greater Vision Baptist Church for many years with her husband. Bonnie loved and served the Lord faithfully throughout her life and loved to surround herself with the joy of children including the ones from the church nursery, a few daycares, as well as babysitting in her home. Her family was the most important thing in her life. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Sherry Kay Willis in 1969, five brothers, and five sisters.
Bonnie is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Jimmy Willis, two daughters, Sheila Thigpen and husband Craig of Shepherdsville and Sharon Bell and husband Shawn of Leavenworth, Indiana, four grandchildren, Chance Thigpen and wife Sarah, Hannah Bell, Rachel Bell, and Chase Thigpen, one great grandchild, Harper Thigpen, four sisters, Mary Henderson, Linda Redd and husband Larry, and Connie Kasinger, all of Owensboro and Dorothy Parks of Sturgis, a brother, Billy Alsup and wife Joyce of Florida, numerous nieces and nephews, and a special honorary granddaughter, Delaney Howard.
The Funeral Service for Bonnie Willis will be Noon Tuesday, May 28, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with burial following in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 PM until 8 PM Monday and after 10 AM Tuesday at the funeral home.
