Mildred Eileen Edge Boarman, 95, of Whitesville, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family Monday, February 17, 2025. She was born on February 20, 1929 in Daviess County, to the late William Roscoe and Mary Ethel Clark Edge. She was a lifetime member of St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church.
In addition to her parents, Mildred was preceded in death by her husband of 76 years, John O. “Bud” Boarman and her children, Sandra Gillim and Jeff Boarman, a grandchild, Christa Gillim, and her siblings, Orville, Cletus, Cecilia “Curly”, Fabian “Dude”, Barbara and Danny.
Mildred is survived by her sons, Johnny Boarman of Reynolds Station, Greg (Shaunte) Boarman of Hartford, Bill (Elizabeth) Boarman of Hartford, Mickey (Faye) Boarman of Whitesville, David (Shannon) Boarman of Philpot; her daughters, Jamie Ralph, Delilah (Byron) Higdon, Jackie (Ronnie) Ward and Amanda Boarman, all of Whitesville and Joetta (Steve) Johnson of Hawesville; daughter-in-law, Cathy Boarman of Utah; 36 grandchildren, 68 great-grandchildren with 1 on the way and 17 great- great-grandchildren with 3 on the way, for a total of 133 direct descendants.
The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Hospice of Western Kentucky or St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, February 21, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church, with burial following at St. Mary of the Woods Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday, February 20, 2025 from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. with prayers at 6:00 p.m., at Cecil Funeral Home in Whitesville, KY.
