Linda Sue Massingill, age 73 of Leitchfield, KY, passed away March 14, 2025, at Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center. She was born in Custer, KY on November 11, 1951, daughter of the late Agnes Marie Sosh and Sidney Howard Ford. Linda was a homemaker who enjoyed flower gardening, watching hummingbirds, working crossword puzzles, making bead jewelry, coloring and watching westerns – especially Gunsmoke, The Riflemen and Wagon Train. She attended Mt. Gilliad Church when her health allowed and spent time reading her bible and listening to gospel music. Her favorite things to eat were homemade biscuits and gravy and chocolate chip cookies.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands Joel C. Bruner and Michael Massingill; great grandchild Piper Brown and siblings Allen, Gary, Herbert J, Everett, Martin and Barry Ford.
Linda is survived by 12 children: Joel Charles Bruner, Jr. of Nashville, TN; Freddie Bruner (Laura), Malinda Fay Ferry (Tommy Hazelwood), Evelyn Marie Armes and Laura Bruner of Leitchfield, KY; Issac Bruner (Beth) of Vine Grove, KY; Anthony Bruner of Louisiana; Larry Bruner of Hardinsburg, KY; Carla King of Rineyville, KY; Monica Martin (Matthew) of St. Paul, KY; Amanda Bruner of Eastview, KY and Dena Adams (John) of Montana
48 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren
4 brothers and sisters: Keith Ford and Judy Butler (Farrell) of Locust Hill, KY; Larry Ford of Florida and Pearline King of Cloverport, KY
Funeral services will be held at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at 1 PM with burial in the Custer Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 9:30 AM on Saturday.
