Denver “Den” Ammons, age 82 of Harned, KY passed away March 16, 2025, at Breckinridge Memorial Hospital. He was born in Breckinridge County on March 18, 1942, son of the late Joseph and Zola Ammons. He was a farmer, enjoyed working on cars and machinery and watching westerns.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Gertie Ammons, his stepchildren Louis Carwile, Betty Burgess and Charles Carwile and his siblings James, Joe Wayne and Walter Ammons and Reba Milburn.
Denver is survived by his companion Delma Hoover of Harned, KY
3 children: Lynn Ammons (Brandy) of Hardinsburg, KY; Gene Carwile of Tell City, IN and Troy Dupin of Elizabethtown, KY
5 stepchildren: William Carwile of Harned, KY; Darlene Crowe (Danny) and Judy Styles of Elizabethtown, KY; Shannon Carwile of Irvington, KY and Jonathan Ammons (Patricia) of Hardinsburg, KY
7 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, several step grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at Hillcrest Baptist Church on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at 10 AM with cremation to follow. Visitation will be held at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home on Friday, 3:30 – 8 PM and Saturday at the church from 8:30 – 10 AM. All times are central. Expressions of sympathy are requested to the funeral home to assist with expenses.
