DUNMOR – Gaylond Timothy “Tim” Porter, 73, of Dunmor, died Saturday, March 22, 2025 at 10:13AM at Maple Manor and Rehab. in Greenville. Mr. Porter was born March 28, 1951 in Muhlenberg County. He was a member of Mud River Union Baptist Church where he served as the Song Leader and Deacon. He worked as a Coal Miner for Peabody Coal and as an Electrician for Brewer Machine Company. He enjoyed working on the family farm, spending time with his family, watching UK Basketball, and serving at his church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Warren and Bonnie Porter; wife of 48 years, Dianne Porter; grandchild, Charlie Porter; sister, June DeArmond; and brothers, Dale Porter, and Brent Porter.
He is survived by his sons, Craig (Misty) Porter, and Chad (Kim) Porter; grandchildren, Holly (Travis) Byars, Meghan Farmer, Kaylond Porter, and Eden Porter; great-grandchildren, Brooke Byars, Becca Byars, Brenna Byars, and Bristol Byars; sisters, Gloria (Murrell) Thomas, Marsha Taylor, and Teresa Porter; and brothers, Penny (Anita) Porter, Mike (Susan) Porter, and Pete (Myla) Porter.
Funeral services will be Thursday, March 27, 2025 at 11AM at Mud River Union Baptist Church with Bro. Ricky Peterson officiating, assisted by Bro. Darren Benton. Burial in Mud River Union Cemetery.
