
Henry Franklin “Frankie” Adkins, Jr., age 68 of Garfield, KY passed away at his residence on March 23, 2025. He was born in Tell City, IN on December 19, 1956, son of the late Henry Franklin Adkins, Sr. and Carolyn Fuchs Adkins. Frankie, as he was known by his family and friends, retired from the Kentucky Department of Transportation after 27 years of service. As a young man, Frankie attended Sample United Methodist Church and later in life, he became a member of St. Romuald Catholic Church where he served as an usher. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Frankie was the Third District Constable and a member of the Hardinsburg Masonic Lodge and former member of Breck. Co. Moose Lodge.
Frankie loved life, his family and his friends. If he loved you, he loved you forever. He was a good, honest, funny man who always offered a helping hand to those in need. Frankie enjoyed fishing, NASCAR, playing poker with his friends and bidding at the annual Rotary Auction with the Harned Gang. He worked security for auctions, school events and traffic detail for funeral services. Frankie was an SRO at the schools before there was such a person.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers: Jeff, Gerald and Phillip Ray.
He is survived by his wife Regina, who he married June 9, 1978.
His sons: Eric Adkins of Irvington, KY and Jeffery Adkins (Brooke) of Hardinsburg, KY
3 grandchildren: Braeyden Bentel, Carson Adkins and Landon Adkins
6 nieces and nephews: Haley Adkins (Taran Armes), Abbigale Adkins, Angie Warren (Jeff), Lisa Temple (David), Amanda Starks and Ronnie Starks
Funeral services will be held at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at 11 AM. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, 3:30 – 8 PM and Wednesday after 8 AM. A Masonic service will be held on Tuesday at 7 PM. All times are central.
