After being legally blind for nearly 5 years, George “Randall” Davis was finally able to look at the face of Jesus on Wednesday evening, March 26, 2025. He was born, on April 24th, 1940, the son of Joseph Rowan and Grace Ganote Davis of Owensboro.
On November 25th, 1959, he married the love of his life, Reatha Faye Fielden, and spent nearly the next 66 years loving her with his whole heart. Since 1976, they have been faithful members of Harvest Baptist, with him serving as a deacon for most of those years. He was a scale model enthusiast who built hundreds of 1/25 and 1/16 scale cars and trucks, and collected die cast cars as well.
Randall retired, after 40 years of service, from SFG (formerly Field Packing Company). He was a long-time member of the Owensboro Antique Car Club, owned two ‘57 Chevys and a ‘57 Cameo Pickup.
Along with his parents, Randall is preceded in death by his brother, Johnny DeWayne Davis, his sister, Maggie Jackson, and his grandson, Jonathan Crowe.
Randall is survived by his wife, Reatha Davis; sisters, Violet “Winnie” Koller and Birdie Davis; daughters, Telina Crowe and Donna Davis; grandchildren, Justin (Victoria) Crowe, Jessica (Nathan) Glover, and Jacob Crowe (fiancé, Angel Thomas); great-grandchildren, Keaton, Briley & Branson, with another great-grandson, Cannon Michael, due in June.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Monday, March 31, 2025, at Harvest Baptist Church, at 4430 Old Calhoun Rd, Owensboro, KY 42301. Burial will follow at Providence Methodist Church Cemetery, on Jack Hinton Road in Philpot, KY. Friends and family are invited to visitation, at Haley McGinnis Funeral Home and Crematory, on Sunday, March 30, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Visitation will resume on Monday, March 31, 2025, at Harvest Baptist Church, from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.
