Ruth Jacob Lowe, 79, of Owensboro, passed away Friday May 31, 2019 at her home. Ruth was born September 21, 1939 in Owensboro, to the late Thomas Jefferson Jacob and Leona Margaret Reeks Jacob. She previously worked in the Circuit Clerks office at the Daviess County Courthouse. Ruth was an avid quilter and a former member of the Owensboro Quilting Guild and enjoyed traveling.
She also was preceded in death by her husband, James Randell Lowe; and two brothers, Billy Jacob and Earl Jacob.
Ruth is survived by her daughter, Sonja Hicks Burcham and her husband, Kim; and a son, Roger Hicks and his husband, Don Donahue, of Fort Lauderdale; grandson, Nick McCosh; two granddaughters, Ginny Layman (Paul) and Melissa Kamuf (Ben); six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Betty Day and Judy Tyler (Jim); and several nieces and nephews.
The Funeral service for Ruth Lowe will be 10 AM, Thursday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with Pastor Eddie Duke officiating. Visitation will be from 4 until 7 PM Wednesday and from 9 AM till time of service Thursday at the funeral home. Entombment will be at Owensboro Memorial Gardens in Christ Chapel.
