
Wanda Marie Jones, 88, passed away Monday, June 10, 2019, at The Carmel Home. She placed her children first, teaching life lessons by demonstrating her unconditional love, devoted faith, and moral commitment. Born in Hawesville, a daughter of the late Venton and Pauline Basham McBride, she was independent, a committed worker, and a self-made businesswoman, operating Wanda M. Jones Tax service until her retirement. Ms. Jones was a member of Immaculate Catholic Church where she served on the finance committee, as a greeter, and with St. Vincent DePaul. She was also preceded in death by her grandson, Nicholas Clayton Jones, and her brothers Paul McBride, Hugh McBride, Clay McBride, and Charles McBride
Those who honor her memory include her children William “Bill” Jones (Theresa), of Paducah, Father Tony Jones of Hardinsburg, and John Jones (Susan), and Jeff Jones (Michelle), all of Owensboro, and Mary Jo Jones of Louisville; 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; her sister-in-law Mary Ann McBride; and a number of nieces and nephews.

The funeral Mass for Ms. Jones, officiated by Fr. Tony Jones, will be at 12:00 Noon Thursday at Immaculate Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 3:00 until 7:30 p.m. Wednesday and from 10:00 until 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory, where prayers will be at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.
