Jenny Lee Kassinger, 47, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 4, 2025, at the Heartford House while under the care of Hospice and Palliative Care of Western Kentucky, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on January 30, 1978, to Marilyn Patty Horn Kassinger and Carlos Lee Kassinger. Jenny was an inspiration and showed her faith in the Lord with how she treated those around her. Her mother was her caregiver and strongest supporter as she battled her illness. She was surrounded by her family through her entire journey. Jenny was blessed to have a family of amazing prayer warriors that guided her along the way. She adored her nieces and nephews and enjoyed spending time with them, especially making them a birthday cake and celebrating with them.
Jenny was employed as a social worker at the Cabinet for Health and Family Services for 25 years. She was devoted to her employment until her retirement in February of 2025. Jenny enjoyed her work and assisting others. She served as a board member for the Michael E. Horn Family Foundation. Jenny was also a faithful member of St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her father, Carlos Kassinger.
Jenny is survived by her mother, Patty Kassinger; a brother, Steve Kassinger and his wife Monica (Goetz) Kassinger; nieces and nephews, Lily, Weston, Annalise, and William Kassinger; many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Please join the family in celebrating Jenny’s life with a funeral Mass at 10 AM Thursday, May 8, 2025 at St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church in Whitesville with Fr. Brian Roby officiating. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory on Wednesday from 3 PM till 7 PM with prayers at 6:30 PM at the funeral home.
