Dakotah “Kodi” Sean Ollis, 39, of Owensboro, took his last breath on May 4, 2025, with his loving wife, Amber and oldest brother, Brandon at his side. Kodi entered the world on June 28, 1985, and was the beloved son of Bobby Ollis, Jr. and Rosemary (Kelley) Brace. During his early adulthood Kodi moved from his home in California to Michigan and then to Arkansas, before finally being drawn by the love of his life to her hometown in Kentucky. Playing both video and board games from a young age, Kodi had a lifelong hobby that introduced him to many of his best friends, keeping the bond close with his oldest brother and nephews over long distances. He and Amber especially loved Rocket League. He also enjoyed playing billiards, swimming, and traveling.
Kodi was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Loy and Goldie Kelley; paternal grandmother, Ruby Ollis; bonus mother, Renee Ollis; sister, Shawnee Naomi Ollis; sister-in-law, Candace Ollis; and niece, Arianna Rose Ollis. Kodi was surely not alone when he went to be with Jesus.
Those left to cherish his memories are his beloved wife, Amber Ollis; daughters, Callie, Jersey, and Brooklyn Ollis; father, Bob (Aubrey) Ollis, Jr.; mother, Rose Brace; paternal grandfather, Henry Borbon; father-in-law, Dennis (Cathy) Boyd; mother-in-law, Betty Boyd; siblings, Brandon (Kat) Ollis, Lloyd (Mandy) Ollis, Noah Ollis, Yvette (Mark) Garcia, Alex Ollis; uncles, Rocky (Margie) Borbon and Chuck Davis Jr.; aunt, Lisa Borbon; nieces and nephews, Amy (Peyton) Ayers, Dexter (MaKayla) Ollis, Colton Ollis, Dominik Ollis, Damion Nash, Rainah Ollis, Ryan Garcia, Kennedy Boyd, Jonathan Garcia, Lincoln Boyd, Malachi Ollis, Cleveland Boyd, Nixon Boyd, Melissa Garcia; great nieces, Braxtyn Hill and arriving in July, Jane Ayers; as well as many other loving family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. May 17, 2025, at Apollo Heights Baptist Church, 2322 Tamarack Rd, Owensboro, KY 42301, followed by a meal.
