Norma Jean Johnson Meincken 86, of Lewisport, passed on to her Heavenly Home on Wednesday May 7th, 2025 at the Heartford House. Norma was born on October 5th, 1938 of Patesville, KY She was a member of Hilldale Methodist Church and a devout Christian. Norma spent her time enjoying the little things of life and taking everything in. She embodied true hospitality and always had an open door for those she met. She loved to laugh and have “girls” trips out. She had a talent for sewing and her creativity was shown in her beautiful creations. Cardinals were by far her favorite bird and gardening was a passion of hers during the warmer months. Norma loved to cook and bake; she never went anywhere empty handed and always had some treat available for those who’d visit. Family was very important to Norma. She loved big and she loved fiercely.
Survivors include two sons, Andrew Hollifield of Lewisport, KY and John (Frieda) Meincken of Russell Springs, KY; grandchildren Nicholas Hollifield (Wren) of Louisville, Brooke (Marcus) Bartrug of Russell Springs, KY, Alex (Jessica) Meincken of Mount Washington, KY, seven great grandchildren and her brother Fred (June) Johnson along with a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Alwin Meincken, her father Eugene “Fred”rick Johnson and mother Virgie “Marie” Flowers.She was also preceded in death by her brother Orrin Johnson and sister Connie Nugent.
A Memorial Service will be held at Hilldale Methodist Church on Monday, May 12, 2025 at 2 pm. Visitation will be at the church from 1:00 pm Monday until the start of service.
