Carolyn Mae Spangler, 81, of Owensboro, passed away peacefully on May 7, 2025, under the compassionate care of Hospice of Western Kentucky – Heartford House. Born on February 15, 1944, in Owensboro, she was the beloved daughter of the late Dave and Beulah Kessinger.
A devoted Navy wife and loving mother, Carolyn dedicated her life to caring for her family and creating a warm and welcoming home. She had a creative spirit that she expressed through her love of drawing and sketching. An avid animal lover, Carolyn had a special place in her heart for Boston Terriers.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her dear husband, Carl Spangler, and siblings, Willis Spangler and Betsy Carlin.
Those left to cherish her memories are her children, Eric (Alicia) Spangler, Laura Reed, and Rebecca Spangler; grandchildren, Kelly Jones, Rachael Harley, Kristen (Raphael) Roberts, Stephen Spangler, Kathleen Spangler, and Lee Spangler; great grandchildren, Benjamin, Caroline, Delilah, Eleanor, and Carson; beloved dog, Willow; as well as many other loving family and friends.
