
James “Jamie” Shepherd Schofield, 53, of Owensboro, died of natural causes on May 6, 2025. He was born, on September 19, 1971, to Joseph “Joe” Schofield and Brenda McCormick Schofield. Jamie was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church.
Jamie was a man of quiet creativity and great skill, who found joy in drawing and expressing himself through art. Gifted with his hands, he was always crafting, building, or creating something meaningful. Some of his happiest moments were spent in the stillness of the woods or by the water’s edge, hunting and fishing with his beloved aunt—sharing not just hobbies, but a deep, enduring bond.
Jamie is preceded in death by his grandparents, Rose McCormick Winstead, Louis McCormick, Frank Winstead, Joseph Lyle Schofield, Katherine Schofield and Ruth and Charles Roehm.
Along with his parents, those left to cherish his memory include his son, Jonathan Fenwick; his grandchildren, Wyatt Fenwick and Jonothan Fenwick II; his siblings, John Shaffer of North Carolina, Jeffrey (Sarah) Schofield of Henderson, KY; his half-sister, Jackie Schofield of Columbus, IN; his step-brother, Steve (Judy) Schofield of Columbus, IN; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at Haley-McGinnis Funeral Home & Crematory. Friends and family are invited to visitation at Haley McGinnis Funeral Home and Crematory on Saturday, May 10, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., at the funeral home.
