Daniel Kirkendoll, 79, of McRae-Helena, Georgia, formerly of Owensboro, passed away on Saturday, May 3, 2025 at Dodge County Hospital in Eastman, Georgia. He was born March 6, 1946 in Daviess County to the late Berman and Louise Kirkendoll. Daniel proudly served four years in the U. S. Navy during the Vietnam War. Upon returning to Owensboro, he married Nancy Hagman on April 2, 1971. They shared 45 years together until her passing in 2016.
Daniel was an avid fan of all sports, especially NASCAR and Kentucky basketball. He also cherished his time spent umpiring softball in Kentucky and Georgia. Some of his greatest joy came from the lives of his children and grandchildren. He took immense pride in witnessing their growth, their deepening faith, and their achievements in academics and athletics.
Besides his wife and parents, Daniel was also preceded in death by his siblings, Madgie Simmons, Barbara Martin, Dean Layton, and Donny Kirkendoll.
Survivors include his daughter, Michelle Morris (Mike) of McRae-Helena, Georgia; son, Chris Kirkendoll (Shelly) of Thomasville, Georgia; and grandchildren, Will Morris, Maggie Morris, Blake Kirkendoll, Macey Kirkendoll, and Morgan Kirkendoll.
Funeral services will be held at 10 AM Saturday, May 31, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory in Owensboro with burial following in Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Owensboro. Visitation will be held from 5 PM until 7 PM Friday, May 30 and from 9 AM until the time of the service Saturday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory.
