POWDERLY – John Julius Martin, 74, of Powderly, died Wednesday, May 14, 2025 at 5:41AM at Baptist Health Deaconess in Madisonville. Mr. Martin was born September 3, 1950 in Jefferson County, KY. He worked for Super Valu and as a mail carrier for the US Postal Service. He was a U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran. He was preceded in death by Alice Martin, several sisters and one brother; Kegan Arnold, John Martin, and Anna Mae Duvall.
He is survived by his children, Johnny (Miranda Hadley) Martin, Tina (Jimmy) Sapp, and Teresa Chaney; grandchildren, Johnathan Martin, Cole Sapp, Logan (Carrie) Sapp, Bayleigh Chaney, Ryan Chaney, and Chris Chaney; great-grandchildren, Ellie Martin, Noah Chaney, Gracyn Chaney, Camden Sapp, and Kayleigh Cummins; and sister, Jane Casey.
Funeral services will be Sunday, May 18, 2025 at 1PM at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City with Bro. Leroy Rearden officiating. Burial in Fairmount Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 10AM-1PM at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at www.tuckerfuneralhomes.com
