Tommy Edward Smith, age 80 of Hardinsburg, KY passed away May 18, 2025, at Breckinridge Memorial Hospital. He was born in Hardinsburg, KY on June 8, 1944, son of the late Russell and Margaret Rose Smith. Tommy was a former member of Bethel Fellowship Church. He was a retired Special Deputy for over 26 years with the Breckinridge County Sheriff’s Office and served as Constable. He was the owner and operator of a wrecker service and salvage yard. He enjoyed the outdoors and could be found fishing or working on cars.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings James Smith, Lucille Hensley, Faye Morris and Darlene Gray.
Tommy is survived by 3 children: Travis Smith of Upton, KY; Tina Norris of Adamsville, AL and Sherrie Cox of Big Clifty, KY
7 grandchildren: Braxton, Hayley and Conner Smith; Jordan Cox; Sarah Martin; Anna and Bridget Norris
2 brothers: Darrell Smith (Karen) of Pekin, IN and Ronnie Smith of Hardinsburg, KY
Funeral services will be held at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at 11 AM with burial on the family farm. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, from 3:30 – 8 PM and Thursday after 8:30 AM. All times are central.
