Bettie Engle Rearden, 82, of Owensboro, passed away on Sunday, May 18, 2025 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. She was born March 20, 1943 in Daviess County to the late Charles and Ida Mae Yeiser Engle. Bettie worked at General Electric for 10 years and then at Ohio Valley Surgical Specialists for 25 years before retirement. She was a member of Bellevue Baptist Church and then became a member of Mount Moriah Baptist Church in Ohio County.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Denise Wedding on September 1, 2018.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, E.J. Rearden; son, James Rearden; three grandsons; three granddaughters; two great-grandsons; brother, Nelson Engle; sister, Shirlene Barnard; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 22, 2025 at James H. Davis Funeral Home and Crematory with Brother Tim Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Lake Family Cemetery in Ohio County. Visitation is from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
