Phyllis C. Smith 77, of Calhoun, Kentucky passed away Tuesday, May 20, 2025 at her home. Phyllis Carol Tapp was born December 8, 1947 in McLean County, Kentucky to the late Charles Lester and Dorothy Jewell Ogle Tapp and married George Smith on March 4, 1966.
Phyllis grew up attending Richland Baptist Church with her family when she was younger. She was a life-long homemaker who always enjoyed spending time with all of her family and friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Freda Sweeney.
Survivors include her husband of 58 years George Smith; daughter, Georgina Smith Drake of Calhoun; sons, Charles “Chuck” Smith of Huntsville, AL; Jeremy Smith of Calhoun; four grandchildren; one great grandchild; brothers, Paul Tapp of Owensboro, Tim Tapp (Carol) of Murray; sisters, Lisa Wilkins (Jerry) of Owensboro, Shirley Vaught (Vince) of Centertown; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, May 22, 2025 at Richland Baptist Cemetery in McLean County. There will be no public visitation. Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel is handling the arrangements for Phyllis’s family.
