Rosie “Rose” Lee, 91 of Owensboro passed away Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. The Warren County native was born July 16, 1933, to the late Jessie Benningfield and Ethel Cruse Benningfield. She retired in 1998 after over 20 years of working at Bacon’s department store. Rose was a member of Owensboro Christian Church and Eastern Star, Goel 104 Ensor, holding many offices in the organization.
In addition to her parents, Rose also was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Lee in 2007; son, Robert Dwight Lee in 2024; sisters, Louise Cox, Geneva Hooten, and Margaret Kinsey.
Those left to cherish her memory include her two children, Ron Lee (Kim) of Lexington, and Belinda “BK” Sicard of Cadiz; six grandchildren, Kelly Snyder (Joey), Jenny Lee, Sarah Devine (Nolan), Katie Thompson (Ryan), Emily Samudre (Mark), and Sam Sicard; eleven great grandchildren, Aly Riley (Alex), Noah Snyder (Annamarie), Caleb Devine, Adeline Devine, Liliane Devine, Makenzie Devine, Ellison Samudre, Mila Samudre, Brock Thompson, and Cora Thompson; four great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be 12:00 pm Saturday, May 24 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with same day visitation from 9:00 am until the time of the service. A private burial will be in Owensboro Memorial Gardens.
