Alice ‘Suggie’ Gardner 85, of the Livia Community in McLean County, Kentucky passed away Saturday, May 24, 2025 at Riverside Care and Rehabilitation Center in Calhoun. Alice Marie Clark was born February 5, 1940 in Daviess County, Kentucky to the late Martin A. and Alice Henry Thomas Clark, was married to John Kenneth Gardner on September 23, 1990 and was lovingly known as ‘Suggie’ to both her family and friends.
Alice earlier worked as a bus driver for more than 15 years for the Daviess County Public School System and later retired as a seamstress from Concord Cleaners in Owensboro. She was a member of the Catholic Faith and was a softball coach for several years. Alice was a loving mother of five girls. She loved being outdoors and caring for her yard.
In addition to her parents, Alice was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Robert Epley; a brother, Steve Clark; and two sisters, Rose Crabtree and Bonnie Potts.
Alice is survived by her husband of 34 years, John Gardner; five daughters, Josie Epley of Owensboro, Susan Boyle-Busch (Jerry) of Maceo, Anna Durbin-Troutman (Eric), Greta Miller (Mike), and Faye Hindahl (Jeff) all of Owensboro; 5 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; four brothers, John Clark (Theresa) of Murray, David Clark (Jane), Bud Clark (Robbye) both of Owensboro, and Billy Clark (Pouki) of San Diego, California; three sisters, Ruth Oller (Larry), Pam Cummins (Rick) both of Owensboro, and Paula Newman of Conroe, Texas; and two brothers-in-law, Sammy Potts of Maceo and Melvin Crabtree of Owensboro.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 28, 2025 at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel with her nephew, Father Michael Clark officiating. Friends may visit with Alice’s family from 11:00 A.M. until 3:00 P.M. Wednesday at Musters in Calhoun.
