Gene Michael “Mike” Drake, 72, of Greenville died on Friday, May 23, 2025 at Dawson Springs Health and Rehabilitation. He was born in Evansville, IN on October 20, 1952, the son of John Stanley Drake and Jewell Kathleen Kelley Drake. He was a member of Jernigan’s Chapel Methodist Church and he retired from Whirlpool Corporation after over 25 years. He enjoyed going to dirt track races and doing body work on cars for himself and others. He loved to hunt and fish.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters Linda and Judy.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 27 at 2:00 PM at Gary’s Funeral Home in Greenville, KY conducted by Mr. Tony Jones. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery in Greenville.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Phyllis Jones Drake of Greenville, KY; three sons, Tim (Becky) Drake of New Haven, IL, Michael (Rachael) Drake of Newburgh, IN, and Duran (Chelsea) Drake of Central City, KY; two step-children, Chuck (Lori) Craven of Macedonia, IL and Stacy Craven of Greenville, KY; ten grandchildren; six great grandchildren; two brothers, Jimmy (Marilyn) Drake of Cadiz, KY and Gary Drake of Evansville, IN; two sisters, Linda Young of Florida and Cindy (Charlie) Hooper of Evansville, IN.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 27 from 11:00 AM until time of funeral at 2:00 PM at Gary’s Funeral Home.
