William Robert “Bob” Russell, 79, of Owensboro, passed away on Wednesday, June 4, 2025 at his home. He was born March 14, 1946 in Owensboro to the late Erin Robert Russell and Katherine Mable Watson Russell. Bob retired from Whirlpool as a general supervisor and was a U.S. Army veteran of the 101st Airborne serving during Vietnam. He was a member of Grace Point Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Ann Moore, Judy Bartlett, and Gayle Prather.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Patricia Higgs Russell; children, Robin Wheeler (Rodney), Aaron Russell, and Darin Russell; nine grandchildren, Dalton Wheeler, Emily Wheeler, Madalynn Russell, Maci Russell, Judge Russell, Mashayla Russell, Logan Russell, MaKenzie Martin, and Justice Murphy; two great-grandchildren, Adalyne Russell and Raiden Martin; brothers, Bruce Russell, Mike Moore, Scott Moore, and James Moore; sister, Fonda Le; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 10, 2025 at James H. Davis Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation is from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
