Earlier hobbies included fishing, shooting clay pigeons, and assembling vintage Revell model planes that are still displayed in his childhood room.
Surviving is his brother, Daryl A. Stephens; sisters, Vicki J. Barker (Gary) and Angela R. Weaver (David); niece, Ashley M. Bowlds (Chris); nephews, Aaron M. Weaver (Amanda) and W. Andrew Weaver (Katelyn); three great-nieces; four great-nephews; and two double-first cousins who were like siblings, Connie and Barry Stephens, all from Owensboro.
In keeping with his wishes, no formal service or visitation will be held, but a private service will be held in Christ Chapel at Owensboro Memorial Gardens. His final resting place will be in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. James H. Davis Funeral Home and Crematory has been entrusted with the care of his arrangements.
