Joyce was a devoted mother, adored and deeply loved, who was an avid and enthusiastic University of Kentucky fan, had many flowers and big gardens in her younger days, loved animals (especially Skeeter) and had many travels while her husband, James M. Spence was in the service. Joyce suffered a stroke in 2007, which left her partially disabled but she still enjoyed road trips for shopping, eating out, and having her family visit. Joyce will be remembered by her family for her caring and devotion to them.
Along with her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, James Melvin Spence, her brother, Billy Green, and her great-grandchild, Carson Conder.
Joyce is survived by her children: Linda Faye Tinnell, James T Spence, Debbie S Conder; her sister Annetta Wathen. She created many memories with her grandchildren: Leon, Eric, Lisa, David, Chad and Matt; which will never be forgotten and also, has 8 great-grandchildren: Carson, Cruiz, Cadence, Jordyn, Miranda, Landon, Sydney, and Garrett.
Special thanks to the caring ladies on the 3rd floors coronary care at Regional Health, Shawn Blandford for his kindness while transporting Joyce.
Joyce chose to be cremated and wishes to be remembered at private gatherings by family and friends.
