Thomas E. "Tommy" Bickett

February 8, 1939 - June 24, 2019

Thomas E. “Tommy” Bickett, 80, of Knottsville, passed away Monday, June 24, 2019 at Deaconess Hospital. He was born in Knottsville to the late Thomas E. “Muck” and Mary Catherine “Red” Bickett.

Tommy was a U.S. Navy veteran. He retired from Green River Steel, however Tommy had a variety of occupations through the years. He owned and operated Tommy’s Tavern and an auto repair shop, “Bickett’s Garage. He also sold cars and occasionally ran a bulldozer. Tommy was a member of St. Williams and St. Lawrence Catholic Churches. He enjoyed trap shooting, quail hunting, traveling, and in his earlier years, drag racing.

Tom was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Nancy Jo Bickett in 2010; granddaughter, Heather Lynn Bickett in 2003; and sisters, Norma Bryant and Carolyn Morton.

He is survived by five sons, Gary Bickett and wife Michell, Patrick Bickett, Steve Bickett and wife Kathy, Joe Paul Bickett and wife Kim, and Mike Bickett, all of Philpot, six grandchildren, Justin Bickett (Amanda), Haleigh Bickett, Chelsea Wathen (Tom), Eric Bickett, Alyssa Bickett, and Jayden Bickett, great-grandchildren, Lyvienne and Roland Bickett, Stella and Piper Wathen; a sister, Elsie Lindsey; and several nieces and nephews.

The Funeral Mass will be at 10 AM Friday, June 28 at St. William Catholic Church in Knottsville. Visitation will be Thursday from 3 until 8 PM, with prayers at 7, and Friday after 8:30 AM at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will be at St. William Cemetery.
